Quartz accuracy was invented in Japan.Watch band - stainless steel. Nicely finished very smooth, no rough edges. High quality. I purchased a $9.00 "watch repair kit" and used it to remove a couple of links from the bracelet. The kit worked well and the band was not scratched during adjustment. 20 minutes. Beats wasting time and money at a jeweler.Value for my money - very good. Quality at a fair price. I prefer a slightly smaller diameter watch that is also thinner but I'm not willing to spend the extra $$ hundreds for those two style points. This watch is fine enough to show a little class, a little style without being stupid with the money.
